About Me
I’m Eddie Wesson, a Geography student at a Top 10 UK University. I’m passionate about helping both businesses and students achieve their goals, and getting involved. I use my academic and practical experience to deliver digital and creative services, and tutoring through my site. Whether it’s growing an online presence, editing videos, or supporting a student to unlock their potential, I aim to prove practical, personalised solutions that drive results.
Eddie Wesson’s Skill Building
I began building my skills early on, completing my A-Levels in Geography (A*), Economics, Biology, and an EPQ (A*), after a strong set of GCSE results, including Geography, History, Religious Studies, Triple Science, and Spanish. Alongside my academic studies, I’ve always sought to to expand my skills and knowledge, and get stuck in wherever I can. At University, I’m on 2 committees. During my A-Levels, I ran 2 societies (one of which I founded), and helped run another. I’ve completed multiple online courses in digital marketing, social media, and SEO, including certifcations from HubSpot and training programmes from Accenture and Facebook, giving me a strong foundation from which I began delivering digital services.
Eddie Wesson’s Freelancing
Over the past few years, I’ve run my own freelancing business offering social media management, graphic design, photography, and website design and SEO. Through this work, I’ve helped multiple clients improve their online presence, create engaging content, and grow their businesses, while securing repeat contracts through clear communication and high-quality deliverables.
Alongside my digital and creative services, I have signficant experience in tutoring. I’ve tutored and mentored students from Years 4-13. My approach is always tailored to the student’s learning style, pace, and goals. I focus on building confidence and understanding, using engaging techniques. My focus here has been on Geography, Economics, and Biology. By combining my structured lessons with interactive lessons and live feedback, I help students not only improve academically but also develop a love for learning.
Eddie Wesson’s Past Work
I’ve also taken on volunteer and work experiences that have enhanced my problem-solving, technical, and organisation skills. For example, I organised a cycle ride from London to Brighton with a group of friends to raise money for a UK charity. I have also volunteered with the Garwood Foundation, installing and maintaining a CCTV system I constructed from donated equipment, and created a guide for colleagues to use it efficiently. I’ve completed work experience with BT and Openreach, where I used Excel and Word to analyse data and implement real-world solutions.
Eddie Wesson’s Skill Set
My technical skill set is broad and adaptable. I am proficient with software such as VideoPad, Canva, Photoshop, DaVinci Resolve, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Forms, and Google Forms, and I have taught myself programming languages including Python, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, BASIC, and MicroPython. I have experience with 3D design and printing, microcontroller development, and electronics projects, combining creative and analytical thinking to solve complex problems. I also enjoy producing video guides and reviews, which I upload to my own YouTube channel (with over 1000 subscribers) which I used to grow my skills in creating engaging, clear, and professional content.
Eddie Wesson’s Previous Projects
Some of my previous projects I’ve completed for clients:
- Database Management: One of my largest projects involved consolidating four seperate client datasets into a single relational database of over 6,600 records. I designed and built the database structure, cleaned and standardised data, created a custom UID (Unique Identifier) system for deduplication of records, and created custom queries to allow the client to find insights in the data. I also ensured the database would be scalable in the future, and made the future addition of new records simple. This project required a careful attention to detail, problem-solving, communication, and advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills.
- Digital Support for Businesses: I have handled online presence for many small businesses and startups. This involved creating and optimising websites ensuring fast load speeds, responsive designs, and improvement of Google search rankings. I also developed social media strategies, managed content calendars, and created posts, reels, and videos to drive engagement and secure followers for clients across various sectors.
- Graphic Projects: Whether I was designing professional branding assets including logos, flyers, and promotional graphics, or producing marketing photos and video content for client campaigns, I always ensured my clients had a cohesive visual identity.
